MASTERS INDUCTION STUDIO - VERTICAL HIGH SCHOOL
As our cities grow, existing school typologies need to change to serve an increasing population and smaller site area. However, on a pedagogical level, it is equally important that these spaces are able to adapt to the needs of students and staff as the nature of education continues to change and develop. The design process of this project is heavily inspired by the work of Henry Sanoff, a pioneer in Participatory Design theory. We engaged with a focus group of students, teachers and faculty members throughout the design process in order to create a environmentally, socially, and educationally sustainable building. Excerpts from the final portfolio can be found below, which summarise our findings and design decisions.
